Marbella, bridge of the Constitution

The last bridge of the Constitution, ie from 6 to 9 December, I spent a few days with my girlfriend and a few friends in the city of Marbella and its surroundings. We have been the same as we did the trip to London last Easter, so I will use the same fictitious names to refer to them (Clau, Diego, Elena, Ana José Luis and José Antonio) and preserve their anonymity. Here is the chronicle of the journey ...

Let's start from the beginning: Our original intention was to visit Prague, Florence and Budapest. How just to finish in Marbella? well because we spend too much time and did not find affordable travel to any of these destinations, and the thing was difficult to travel outside Spain with such short notice, so we decided to take this opportunity to make tourism in the cars themselves but somewhere near.
I took care to find somewhere interesting to go, and after many laps, I decided that the best option would cost, since beyond the summer season is easier to find hotels at great rates in the interior, which thing was almost impossible. After looking at many options for the southern half of the peninsula, I finally found a very interesting apartment Marbella: The Aparthotel Sultan Club (N 36.50956 º, W 4.90077 º), who had apartments 4 and 6 people at a great price, and also had spa, Jacuzzis, heated pool, gym ... and was quite central.
We all agreed, so I booked 2 apartments, one with 2 bedrooms and sleeps 6 and a 1 bedroom for 4 people (in the respective rooms had a sofa bed and a folding bed for two extra passengers each apartment). In total out of 3 nights for 495 euros, plus 60 parking for 2 cars we were going.
I organized a list of various activities and places to visit, places to eat and all that, and I was just waiting for the day 6 to march ...

Day: Thursday 6 December

We are at 9 am and after filling the tanks of the cars we set off around 9:30. We chose to go along the coast, and after a trip without incident we arrived at the hotel. We signed up and we went to take possession of the rooms. We were given two apartments side by side, on the sixth floor. Diego and Elena were in a bedroom and the rest of us got into the 2. The apartments were very good, very spacious with large terraces, although the decor was rather horterilla. The kitchen was not ill-equipped, had oven, dishwasher, fridge with small freezer, toaster pan, kettle, cutlery, crockery and pots and pans. Missing only a microwave.
After settling in and unpacking, we went down to reception we recommend somewhere to eat. The receptionist recommended a restaurant that she said used to go a lot and liked a lot. We headed there and, after seeing the letter on display outside the prices, we went on looking for another option. At the end we went to one of the sites that I had targeted: Bodega la Venezia (N 36.50855 º, W 4.89480 º). There we got purple of beer, tapas, all very good and cheaply, we each have a pair of half-liter jugs of beer and a montadito pork with peppers and all two servings of ham, two of squid, two anchovies, two and a secret Iberian Galician-style octopus, and cost 138 euros, 7 people. We left very happy there, and not just for the beer we got into the body. : D

Bodega Right next to the Venezia had a supermarket opened, so we went to buy things for breakfast and the evening copichuelas. We got bread, butter, jam, rum, coke, milk, ice, crisps and a biscuit, and returned to the hotel.

Back in the hotel, we changed and went down to the heated pool, but Elena and Ana who first went to drink coffee around hotel, and I nailed 2 euros for each coffee. In the area of \u200b\u200bthe pool, the lifeguard girl told us that the shower cap was obligatory and those who had lent us there that we had not. At first we were alone but was reaching more people and the caps did not get along very vigorously. Beside the pool had a couple of hot tubs that we also gave a review.
could easily throw us 2 or 3 hours between pool and jacuzzis, but in the warm water is in heaven ... José Luis and I took a look also to the gym, he was little but apañao.
When we were wrinkled as raisins, we dry with towels we were there and we went to shower, change and rest. José Luis, José Antonio and I were playing with the Nintendo DS and Mario Party while the other threw a nap.

One thing to note: the hotel tap water (and I suppose Marbella in general) knows very bad ...

At night we went down to a walk and came to the promenade and the shopping center Puerta del Mar. We did some vueltecillas around and then threw to Tony Roma's (N 36.49935 º, W 4.93920 º), restaurant tex-mex in which we had booked a table for 22:00.
At first we thought going by car, since according to My load was about 3 km away, but as it was earlier decided to go for a little walk. At the end of the 3 km became almost 4, walk outside the village in a poorly lit area surrounded by trees and few houses, although the shops and restaurants for which we could see it was an area pijilla. When we thought that we were wrong direction because the restaurant did not appear anywhere, and seeing the faces of my companions began to fear for my physical, we found a sign that warned that he was 200 meters below. I do not know how to measure distances in Marbella, but became almost 200 meters in 1 km, sends balls. The Tony Roma's was where Napoleon lost his hat but in the end we almost an hour and we got to eat like hell.

ate very well, the onion rings were spectacular (put them in a tower), rings eggplant and zucchini really good, really good ribs, very tender ... A Clau put a hamburger, Big Tony, who was big almost like his head: D
The desserts were fine, I asked the famous cookie that apparently is a dessert best known of Tony Roma's and I really enjoyed. but do not see as cloying. Overall, what better than a little walk 4 km back to the hotel to download everything we had eaten. Also in the restaurant gave us a hat of Santa Claus to everyone with whom we go by the clown by the way, as the house brand: D

When we reached the hotel we were very tired from the trip, the pool and past eating and walking, so leave the tops for another day and went to sleep. In addition, the next day we had to get up early to go early at the Sierra de las Nieves to the hiking trail that had prepared.

About one thirty in the morning I woke up listening to the snores of José Antonio in the living room and grabbed the phone to record and put them in the morning. As the bastard snores. : D

Second day: Friday December 7

We did breakfast in the kitchen of the large apartment and caught the car to go to the Sierra de las Nieves, after taking a bit of oil. Yunquera way the people of a cocoon that oncoming almost throws me down the road because all host by a narrow and winding road. Mal give pain in the pancreas and it becomes chronic. That same day I had another scare on the road, but at night. Then he commented.
From Yunquera, we had to go to Puerto Saucillo by infernal goat track, but finally we arrived and we left the car in the small parking lot next to the gazebo. The hiking route we made is that of Puerto Sa
ucillo-Puerto Bellina, which is Sencillito and just 5 km circular route, but we liked because it is a very nice route with plenty of vegetation and through a forest of firs.
The first half of the route is uphill, but after that it's all downhill until you reach the top again, and the way we found an old fridge which is a circular tank stone was formerly used to collect snow and store it for later transport to the town of Yunquera and then to Manchester where it was used to cool food ... People who engaged in it ran out work to receive the fridge and make each one its own ice, which is presumably carried refrigerators a fee to compensate for these losses;) Conas
apart, when we finished the route we were hungry and were passed more than one so although we plan to go to Ronda for lunch, including nearly 40 minutes it would take to arrive and what will it take to find a place to eat would not be too late. Overall, we decided to eat at Yunquera, in the first place that we saw. And we had a good eye, because we stayed in the Sierra de las Nieves Bar (N 36.73581 º, W 4.91850 º) that had menu for 8 euros and besides being cheaper was very very good both food such as bread, as they put bitter aceitunillas snacks. Picadillo soup is the best I've tasted in a restaurant.
ate very well and cheaply and left for Ronda . The road
Yunquera Ronda worthwhile, because they are very beautiful landscapes, and surprisingly green. Some were sleeping and missed it, and we were driving could not distract much admiring the scenery, but I saw enough.

Round In had to leave the car in a parking lot (N 36.74498 º, W 5.16811 º) because PETA was all cars and people. From there we went to see the Tajo de Ronda, first from the Alameda del Tajo and then New Bridge in , previously passing the Ronda bullring , which according to Wikipedia is one of the oldest and largest in the world arena.
is impressive to see the block from the bridge with crows flying below our heads.
Ronda is a very ancient and very interesting to visit, not only by what is in the town itself but by its surroundings. The trouble is getting late and we did not want to go back to Marbella driving these roads at night, so we could just take a walk and return. Even so, we made the trip at night and we had a scare with a motherfucker that came from the front and began to overtake on a curve to a group of cars. When I saw it was almost over and luckily I was going quite slowly and had time enough to reduce him to return to your lane and not pegarnosla, but it left me trembling legs a while the sucker. I hope it's one of many who give their bones in prison with the new penal code reform, the son of a bitch!

Back in the hotel we showered and went out to dinner. We had planned to go to the Venezia Bodegas again, but the way we find a Chinese restaurant called Thai and FU (N 36.50968 º, W 4.89735 º) and while we decided if we went there or not, the waitress China came to the door as if to encourage us to go so we finally got there. The place was pretty empty and we did not get very good spine in principle, but the truth is that we ate very well.

Back at the hotel Jose Antonio, Diego and I went to have drinks at the lounge Diego apartment, but my cup I could barely take a sip because sleep overcame me. In the end, I went to sleep and they stayed there partying ... course, they slept in the car for the trip, I had to drive ...

Day Three: Saturday, December 8

On Saturday we took the day in peace. We got up a little later, without haste, and some went out to breakfast at a cafe outside the hotel. The cafeteria can not even remember his name, but it was pretty flojilla. The toasted bread with tomato ham brought them no, despite having asked to, and charged us as if we had eaten caviar ... When paying, José Luis and I bought a donut and a waffle for the road, waffle that I had to eat cold and nothing over, because they had nothing to put a full waffle ready to go, and did not want to discuss ( napkins would have sufficed).
After breakfast we walked the old town of Marbella, which is about 15 minutes taking a little walk from the hotel. In the Plaza de los Naranjos is the City, very rustic. Around this place are very nice and have nothing to do with the rest of the city. It seems the typical village of white houses, all full of flowers and plants. Nearby
stop a while on a terrace to take us a few beers, and a pina colada Clau that led all the way with that whim. Very good, indeed ... After

s went for a walk along the promenade, where you see the walking and the buildings have almost eaten the beach. In fact there is a building, the Club de Mar, which is built directly in the middle of the arena. Finally, urban nonsense not surprise us now. Nevertheless, the promenade is nice and the multiple positions sales of souvenirs and snacks and a T-shirt found with the famous "Why do not you shut up?" King told him to Hugo Chavez.

ate again at the Venezia Winery and went to the hotel, where Diego, Elena, José Antonio and I went down to the pool and jacuzzi to have a good time to relax. The hotel spas are a little pain in the ass because you have to be giving every minute or 2 minutes to a few buttons that have to be put in place over the bubbles and jets, because they automatically stop.
After a soak time, admiring the ass that was the lifeguard, we went up.

At night we took the car and went to Puerto Banus. We left the car in the parking lot next to the Corte Inglés and start walking around.
if need not discuss the big car that looked and the tremendous luxury yacht was in port. Just to say that many of them have 2 or 3 times more square footage than my house, and one of them there were people inside so we could see through the glass doors as some kids who spoke English were playing Wii Sports the Wii, in a very luxurious living.
store prices was better not to look at them for not marearnos, although some restaurants had menus displayed in the door were not so exorbitant prices ... Al
pass by Carolina Herrera store we came across three girls who were commenting cocks already aburriiiiidas bags Carolina Herrera (read with intonation posh ).... That loathing snobbery!.
We also came across the other side of the coin, a woman asking for food lismona, including yachts and Ferraris.

That night we went to dinner at the restaurant Vips (N 36.48985 º, W 4.95044 º) that despite the name is more affordable than what is there, apart from McDonalds and Burrikins. There, we were doing a little gain, as usual. Diego took a helium balloon which was there and, as the table next to unbearable Crios wore that kept to the staff, made a sign with one of the paper placemats at the table where he wrote "Why do not you shut up?" I hung up the balloon and flew away ... after we came up with another poster where we put "Space reserved for publicity", and after an intense engineering work for the cartel not to bend to be lifted by the balloon flew up the invention and there we left when we left. .. Too bad they forgot to put a phone number ... as we would have called someone: D

Before leaving Puerto Banús another surprise awaited us: By going to pay parking at ATMs that we were surprised that it cost us 9.40 euros per car ... 9.40 for just 3 hours of parking, sends balls!. If I had known I had parked next to a Ferrari, to see if at least he hit something.
Back in the hotel, releases the day throwing a few drinks and playing Mario Party in the apartment of Diego ...

Last update: Sunday, December 9

And it was time to go home, but decided to leave early on the way, go through the Torcal de Antequera (N 36.95389, W 4.54380 º), which had some interest in visiting. As we

approached the Torcal, the day was sunny it was becoming more cloudy, and above all, in the parking lot where cars are left, there was plenty of fog, a very light drizzle and a chill wind that forced us to take shelter clothing packing.
El Torcal is an impressive sight, with forms that make it look like another planet. If we add the fog, the result was eerie. Well worth going to see and walk along it.
As we did not want to entertain too, chose to do the shorter of the two routes are in place to visit the site, the Green Road (1.5 km). As Elena and Diego unless other we had nothing to shelter us head and we began to freeze the ears, we decided to use Santa Claus hats they gave us at Tony Roma's, so we did. We looked like elves with red hats walk in the fog: D I really deserved
well worth the visit to the Torcal. José Luis, who was one of those who were not very convinced to go, ended up acknowledging that it had been the best of the whole trip.

After visiting the Torcal, we went to eat at Antequera and stopped at a restaurant on the edge of town: La Venta El Mirador (N 37.01195 º, W 4.56433 º). They did not eat badly, though a bit expensive but not excessively.

And after dinner, return home and finished what it was ...
